Cats, unlike their canine counterparts, are typically regarded as “indoor pets” — they’re small, lack strong defense mechanisms, and have severely inflated egos. Not a great combination when faced with coyotes in the wild.
Camping with Cats, a group of feline fanatics who strongly advocate showing the nitty-gritties to your kitties, think otherwise. They believe the great outdoors is the perfect place for your pet to be, and that they “deserve to feel the dirt beneath their paws.” But seriously, cats running wild, in the wild? We have our doubts.
We know you have a ton of questions about taking cats on trips.
Like, what if they don’t like the dirt?
What if it snows, and they get cold?
What if they end up hating that you took them away from the comforts of the couch?
But then again, cats are some of the toughest, most badass creatures there are.
They weren’t worshipped by ancient Egyptians for nothing.
Your cat could probably cover the same distance as you, and not break a sweat.
And if they get tired, they could just hitch a ride in your backpack!
But some of them need the exercise, TBH.
Yeah, cats are an unusual sight around campsites.

So let your cat out.
Let him tap into his natural animal instinct.
Let him feel the fresh breeze of unpolluted air, for once.
Let him fill his lungs with the woodsy scent of nature.
Let him experience how it is to live without a roof over his head and a dedicated human to feed him any time he pleases.
