Adam Peaty may have just won Great Britain’s first gold medal in the Rio Olympics, but the Peaty family member who collectively won our hearts was his nan, Mavis.

This proud grandmother wasn’t content on just screaming cheers inside her Uttoxeter bungalow.

So she took to Twitter to release her overflowing excitement. And we’re so happy she did!

Could there be a prouder nan anywhere?

From her mastery of the emoji keyboard to her skillful use of hashtags, the 74-year-old quickly became everyone’s favorite Olympic persona.

Observe the age-old default snail mail signature, “love, Nan,” after every tweet. SO FREAKING ADORABLE.

Not to mention her complete and utter love for her 21-year-old grandson.

While Adam was stretching his swimming muscles in Rio, his #1 fan was gracing Twitter with the cutest little cheers.

#TeamPeaty FTW!!!!!

Her efforts were not in vain: Adam Peaty breastroked his way to a gold medal, with an impressive 1.5 second lead.

And her reaction to his win was priceless.

Was there ever a happier soul that walked the earth?

Adam’s sister Bethany joked that even with Britain’s first Rio Olympics medal and a new world record under his belt,  Mavis has been outshining her brother.

That’s the thing about grandparents: if you’re lucky enough to get a good one, they will have your back whether you win or lose. They just love you unconditionally like that.

And if you’re especially lucky, you may get one who’ll broadcast exactly how much she loves you to the world. Just like our fave #OlympicNan!
